Topic: ONLINE COLLEGES
This past year I was enrolled at American Intercontinental University Online. I was leary at first because the first person I talked from the school kept calling me almost everyday to convince me to sign up. He was just like a used car salesman who had to make a quota. He called me everyday for two weeks. So I sign up hoping that I'll get a degree and use it to get a better job. Well 12 months into a 13 month program I have a family emergency which I have to attend to immediately. I come back home 12 days later and they tell me that I have been expelled for being absent. Mind you until this happened I had been working a full-time job(50+ hours a week), staying up until 2am studying to get a passing grade. But they don't care about that.
Fast forward 4 months, today I get a bill in the mail saying I owe them $1400 for the months that I was expelled.
At first I thought they were a legitimate school, but now I'm convinced that all online colleges are just a business that will give a piece of paper they call a diploma, to anyone who will pay for it.
THE MORAL TO THE STORY:
If you want a college education you'll have to go to a real college that has real teachers in a real building, not a virtual building.
Anything less is just that, LESS.
